Adam Townsend finishes Marcus Edwards in LFA 5 main event

Adam Townsend went to Colorado early in preparation for his main event bout with Marcus Edwards. Getting there early helped him get ready but also got him a bit hurt. An injured rib followed Townsend into the cage and it looked bad early for “Primetime” as he was dropped by Edwards and it looked as if he was gonna be finished for the first time in his career. We all know that it wasn’t in the cards though.

Townsend fought back and composed himself and survived. Later in the fight it looked as if maybe he was in danger of being submitted but nope. The third round came and it was Townsend’s time to shine as he was able to shoot on Edwards and have his way with him most of the round. The 10 seconds warning came but this fight didn’t make it to the bell as it was waved off with seconds to go.

The win on the LFA stage puts Townsend on a short list of rising lightweights that should be fighting in the UFC. The win over Edwards puts him on a three fight winning streak and had he not lost a rough decision this would be his 13th straight.
