On the heels of winning the first-ever BluegrassMMA Matchmaker of the Year award, Valor Fights and Apex Fights owner and matchmaker Tim Loy is planning a busy start to 2017 for his two promotions.

“It’s truly an honor to receive this award from such a great and talented pool of matchmakers!,” Loy said. “I appreciate all the support from our loyal fans and fighters and promise to work even harder to make 2017 our best yet!”

Loy kicks off his busy schedule later this month, as Apex Fights 13 goes down in Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee and features multiple qualifiers for the UMMAF national championships. The fight card features Amateur Fighter of the Year nominee James Garmany defending his light heavyweight title against John Hall, as well as Billy Swanson and Justin Goodin throwing down for the heavyweight title in the main event.

The promotion returns to Nashville for the second time next month, as Valor Fights 40 goes down at the Nashville Fairgrounds Arena. The promotion made their first appearance there in November, as Valor Fights 38 was anchored by rising lightweight star Damir Ferhatbegovic.

Valor Fights 41 will be at the Evolution Sports Gym in Elizabethton on March 18, while Valor Fights 42 goes down at Cocke County High School in Newport, Tennessee on April 15.

Then the promotion will put together a special co-promotion event, as they head to Corbin, Kentucky on May 6 for a Valor Fights vs. Warrior FC event at the Corbin Arena.

“2016 was a pretty big year for us at Valor Fights. We put on a lot of great fights and were able to do it in front of a lot of great crowds,” Loy said. “We’re setting the foundation now for an even bigger 2017, and we’re all so excited to hit the ground running, and continue giving opportunities to the hungriest and most exciting fighters in the region.”
