With more than 37% of the vote, our 2016 BluegrassMMA Matchmaker of the Year winner is Tim Loy. Loy received a total of 1012 votes out of a total of 2711 cast in this category. This was one of the most popular categories and was one of two decided in a Facebook vote.

Loy, who owns and provides matchmaking for Tennessee’s Valor Fights and Apex Fights promotions, finished 139 votes ahead of the second place finisher, Colosseum Combat’s Mark Slater.

Loy has become a leader in the Southeast, promoting 13 events over the past year and hosting many of them on FloCombat.

Valor Fights is already busy planning for 2017, with their first event set as Apex Fights 13 on Jan. 21 in Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee. The promotion will also host Valor Fights 41 on March 18 in Elizabethton, Tennessee, as well as Valor Fights 42 on April 15 in Newport, Tennessee. Also, as we recently reported, the promotion will travel north in May to co-promote an event with Kentucky’s Warrior FC in Corbin on May 6.

With the win, Loy will receive a plaque from BluegrassMMA as well as a feature story on the website this month.
