IT Fight Series 47

IT Fight Series 47

For the second time this year, IT Fight Series heads to Chapparells Community Center in Akron, Ohio for an amateur event this Saturday.

IT Fight Series 47 will feature a pair of pivotal bouts in the featherweight and heavyweight divisions.

In the main event at featherweight, Dustin Mohedano (3-3) is set to take on Brandon Ricketson (2-0). The 21-year-old Mohedano comes in looking to move his record above .500. In his last outing, he lost a decision to Anthony Romero at Bayfront Brawl I in May. Prior to that, he had won two straight, including a submission over Jon Morgan at IT Fight Series 41 in March. Two of his three wins have come via submission.

Ricketson looks to remain unbeaten while also continuing to climb the rankings. Currently, he’s ranked as the No. 22 amateur lightweight in Ohio by Tapology. Both of his wins have come via submission under the IT Fight Series banner, including a guillotine over Vincent Orlandi at IT Fight Series 41, and a submission due to strikes over Branden Davis at IT Fight Series 44 in June.

In the co-feature, heavyweights will square off as Nate Jones (2-1) takes on Lucas Kailing (2-0). Jones has won his last two bouts and is rising in the rankings. He’s currently ranked as the No. 14 heavyweight in Ohio by Tapology after a 32-second TKO win over Josh Hampton at RFO: Big Guns 15 in his last outing in March 2015.

Kailing hails from Wisconsin but he has stormed onto the scene in Ohio with back to back knockout wins. He made his debut with a TKO in just a minute, and then followed that up with a 12-second knockout over Tylor Gregg in his last outing. That has vaulted him to the No. 6 ranking for amatuer heavyweights according to Tapology.
