Adli Edwards (0-0) original opponent for his planned pro debut later this month backed out of the bout, so in steps Ken Beverly (3-1) to the position at Justified Defiance Fight Series 3.

Edwards, who is the No. 1 ranked amateur featherweight in Ohio according to the Tapology rankings, closed out his amateur career with an 8-1 record. His last bout was a victory over Mark Carosella at IT Fight Series 46 in August, where he claimed the promotion’s featherweight title. He was also the RFO featherweight champion.

Beverly, who is still just 19 years old, made his pro debut in April after a 6-0 amateur career. The Viper Pit MMA product dropped his pro debut to Que Parks, but he’s bounced back with three straight wins in three months heading into the bout. Most recently he submitted Brandon Kaiser at Warrior FC: Warriors Against Cancer. He also has a bout slated for just 3 weeks after the fight with Edwards, against Nick Baker at Warrior FC: Mountain Madness. He’s currently ranked as the No. 5 pro lightweight in Kentucky.

Justified Defiance Fight Series 3 takes place on October 29 at the Hollywood Casino in Columbus, Ohio. The main event features another Ohio vs. Kentucky matchup, as Travis Davis takes on Steve Bell.
