Results – Ohio fighters go 3-0 at Midwest Fight Series XV in Indiana

Midwest Fight Series returned to the Hoosier Park Casino in Anderson, Indiana just outside of Indianapolis on Saturday night, but it was a banner night for fighters from Ohio, with Buckeye State natives going 3-0 on the night.

The main event winner at MFS XV was a Hoosier though, as welterweight Austin Tweedy (9-1) defended his 170-pound title with a first round submission win over “Ultimate Fighter” veteran Daniel Head (12-12). Tweedy is now nine-for-nine with finishes in his career and he remains one of the top prospects in the area.

It was a busy night for the welterweights, with four of the six pro bouts taking place in the weight class. Ohio fighters Chico Bays (3-0) and Andrew Law (8-4) each extended their winning streak to three straight wins. Bays handed Indianapolis native Dustin Parrish (4-1-1) his first loss, while Law topped Sean Fallon (3-5) via decision for his third straight win.

The other Ohio native to pick up a win was Dru Schottenheimer (1-0), who topped the more experienced Lloyd Thornton (3-4) via decision in his pro debut after an extended amateur career.

In other pro action, Aaron Highbaugh (2-0) stayed unbeaten with a decision win, while Christopher Tanner (2-3) picked up his second win with a submission victory in the first round.
