Nate Landwehr vs. Mark Cherico booked for GOTC 16 main event
The main event for the upcoming Gladiators of the Cage show has been booked and it should excite fans of both camps. Nate Landwehr (5-1) heads back to Pennsylvania to take on Pittsburgh’s Mark Cherico (7-1) at GOTC 16.
I first saw the news break from GOTC’s Scott Betten on Facebook. So doing what I do, I had to tell Juan and the rest of the crew. It’s an exciting fight for guys like us when you have two good fighters who fight and do it on a local level. Somebody has to take the loss but the fans don’t lose in these situations.
It was at GOTC 15 that Landwehr returned to the cage after a year off. He edged out Justin Steave in a 15 minute battle that went to the judge’s. The SSF fighter from Clarksville, TN has now notched three wins in a row. He returns to hostile territory once again but with boosted confidence.
Cherico lost for the first time in his professional career back in November. It was a stunning upset at Pinnacle FC 9. He will look to rebound and score his eighth pro win. He told Ed Kapp of Guardian Sports Group “I’m looking to go in there, finish this guy and get that next fight.”
