Rosta will face Michigan native Cody Brundage (3-1) in the featured bout of the event, which takes place at the Masonic Temple in Mansfield, Ohio.
The 22-year-old former Seton Hill wrestler Rosta has been impressive since making his MMA debut last year, with six wins via strikes, including three in the first round. His last two bouts have been for titles, as he stopped Trenton Zdarko to claim the Pinnacle FC title in March and then knocked out Devon Harrell in July to claim the Rivers Rumble MMA title.
His perfect record has placed him in the No. 1 ranking in both Ohio and Pennsylvania at light heavyweight, while Tapology also ranks him as the No. 1 amateur light heavyweight in the Midwest and No. 2 in the Northeast.
Rosta has also done some amateur boxing to go along with MMA, and
I broke down his fighting style prior to the bout against Zdarko earlier this year:
Rosta’s got an exciting fight style. On the feet, he likes to lead with a left and throw a heavy right hand, but even with the boxing background he still will use his wrestling to try to rag doll opponents. His win over Quentin Shumard really impressed me, against a more experienced opponent in a lighter weight class and looked like he had been there multiple times before. He had a couple of nice slams in that fight, and he’ll drop his hands from time to time which can lead to him eating some shots.
Brundage appears to be a game opponent, as he won his first three bouts all via first round TKO before dropping a tough decision in his last outing. He’s ranked as the No. 2 light heavyweight in his home state of Michigan by Tapology.
The 21-year-old Bowman has produced three submission wins in his first five outings, although he hasn’t competed in 14 months since his victory over Michael Russell at Upper War. He’s ranked as the No. 3 amateur bantamweight in Ohio.
The Academy’s Patton makes the trek from Pittsburgh looking to build off of a submission victory over Justin Meese at Honor FC 4 earlier this year. The fight was the first in nearly two years for Patton, who is ranked as the No. 12 amateur bantamweight in Pennsylvania.
