IT Fight Series 84 is set to go down at Express Live in Columbus, Ohio later this month, and four pro bouts are signed for the event.
A previously announced bout between Travis Davis (6-2) and Dustin Long (8-4) headlines the event, as Davis looks for his third win in his last four, while Long makes the trek from Tennessee looking to do the same.
Also set for the event are pro bouts featuring middleweights Lance Phillips (2-0) vs. Robert Gidron (3-1), welterweights Trent McCown (7-3) vs. Travis Hussey (4-3), and Brad Orsbone (0-0) vs. Joe Garcia (0-0).
Phillips and Gidron were originally slated to square off at Iron Tiger 83 in July, but Gidron was involved in a car accident and the bout was cancelled the week of the event. Phillips has earned a pair of stoppages via strikes in his first two pro bouts, including a knockout of Gregory Sizemore Jr. at Alliance MMA in March. He’s ranked as the No. 8 pro middleweight in Ohio.
Midwest Training Center’s Gidron comes in off of a decision win over Josh Fremd at Pinnacle FC 16 in March. He’s ranked as the No. 7 pro middleweight in Michigan.
McCown has just two fights since 2013 – a submission over Andrew Law at Caged Madness 33 and a TKO loss to Brian Booth at New League Fights in 2016. All seven of his wins have come via stoppage, including five submissions.
After starting off his pro career 0-2, Hussey has rebounded to win four of five. Most recently, he topped Warren Roberds via decision at Iron Tiger 83 in July.
Orsbone makes his pro debut after a 9-4 amateur run, including wins in five of his last six. His amateur career dates all the way back to 2010, when he won his debut bout via submision.
Garcia posted a 7-4 amateur record and also won five of his last six. He most recently competed in July 2017, when he won the New League Fights light heavyweight title with a TKO over Juan Montalvo.
