In a foreign land against a tough fighter on a 12 fight winning streak, Kentucky’s Nathan Maness stopped Jesse Arnett in the second round to move to 10-0 and capture the TKO MMA bantamweight title tonight at TKO 44.
The fight was aired live on UFC Fight Pass. The first round was very back and forth with Arnett trying a combination of south paw stance and some spinning action. Maness held his composure and countered with big punches. The crowd was a very pro Arnett but Maness remained calm under the pressure.
In the second round “Mayhem” landed a big punch that dropped Arnett and was able to capitalize with some ground and pound forcing the referee to call a stop to the fight.
The loss snapped a 12 fight winning streak for Arnett. Maness leaves Canada the new champion and comes home undefeated at 10-0.
