Pinnacle Fighting Championships is putting an emphasis on its female division, as the promotion will host three amateur women’s MMA bouts at its Pinnacle FC 17 event in June.
The bouts include atomweights Meghan Williams (1-2) vs. Alejandra Betancourt (2-1), Sydney Ross (1-0) vs. Robin Stevenson (1-0) at 120 pounds, and Hope Chase (3-0) vs. an opponent to be named at bantamweight.
Stout Training’s Williams earned her first win at Pinnacle FC 16 in March, as she topped Haily Hoard via unanimous decision. Prior to that, she had dropped bouts against Emme Weber and Kayla Kipp.
Betancourt makes the trek from Kentucky as she competes for the first time since 2016. Her last outing was a decision victory over Shawna Ormsby at Valor Fights 36.
After an impressive debut win, the 18-year-old Ross looks for her second victory against Michigan’s Stevenson.
Chase still awaits an opponent as she puts her unblemished record on the line. In her last outing, she topped Liz Lewis in the 2017 BluegrassMMA Amateur Fight of the Year. The win earned her the Bizzarro Promotions bantamweight title, and she hopes to make the jump to the pro ranks in the near future.
BluegrassMMA previously reported that Nick Browne will defend his lightweight title against Jeff Pelton in the Pinnacle FC 17 main event.
Pinnacle FC 17 takes place on June 9 at Printscape Arena in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania.
