John De Jesus (8-6) and Ruben Warr (11-8) will square off for the vacant featherweight title at Pinnacle FC 17 next month.

The two 145-pound fighters will vie for the title that was vacated by current Bellator fighter Dominic Mazzotta. Mark Cherico also previously held the title in the past.

Both fighters come in on hot streaks, including The Academy MMA’s De Jesus, who has won four of his past five bouts after starting his career 3-5. Most recently, he rebounded from a loss against Pat Sabatini to top Josh Rohler in the main event at Honor FC 4 in Ohio last month.

Warr comes in from Kentucky representing AFS Academy riding a six-fight winning streak. “Bad Boy” is 8-1 since joining AFS in 2016. After winning the Hardrock MMA featherweight title with a decision over B.J. Ferguson, he topped William Calhoun in March to move his record to 2-0 in 2018.

BluegrassMMA previously reported that Nick Browne will defend his lightweight title against Jeff Pelton in the Pinnacle FC 17 main event.

Pinnacle FC 17 takes place on June 9 at Printscape Arena in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania.
