Caged Thunder 3

Caged Thunder 3 goes down this weekend at the Tadmor Shrine in Akron, Ohio, and the amateur event will be headlined by a flyweight title bout featuring A.J. Wilkins (4-1) vs. Brandon Birr (4-0).

Wilkins makes the trek to Akron from Pittsburgh, where he represents Stout Training. The younger brother of pro fighter Mike Wilkins comes in off of a win over Dakota Day at Honor FC 1 in October. He’s ranked as the No. 7 amateur flyweight in Ohio by Tapology.

Strong Style’s Birr comes in with an unbeaten record, including three first round (T)KO wins. Most recently, he knocked out Luke Chokan in just 16 seconds at RFO: Big Guns 25 last September. He’s ranked as the No. 3 amateur flyweight in Ohio.

In the co-main event, James Neff (4-4) and Jordan Beverly (6-2) will square off in a super heavyweight bout.

Neff looks for his third straight win, as he comes in off of victories over Jake Morris and George Pointer in 2017.

Beverly moves up to super heavyweight for the bout, as he returned from a layoff of more than four years to top Chris Wood at RFO: Big Guns 24 last June. He’s ranked as the No. 7 amateur heavyweight in Ohio.
