After a 13 fight amateur career where he posted an 11-2 record, fans were excited for the pro debut of Tim Dunn.
That pro debut came just over five years ago, when he took on James Dishong at UVC 22 in Columbus, Ohio.
Dunn (2-5) proceeded to do what he had done for much of his amateur career: produce a knockout win.
“Fatboy” had held the UVC amateur heavyweight title on two occasions, while Dishong had held the promotion’s amateur super heavyweight championship. The two behemoths collided in a highly anticipated fight.
Unfortunately for Dunn he’s won just one other fight since – a knockout over Leremy Johnson at Ruckus in the Cage 22 in 2014. After losing three straight fights he decided to take a break in 2015, but he is set to return to action next month against Harry Hunsucker (2-2) at Hardrock MMA 97 in Lexington, Kentucky. Dunn picked up a submission win via strikes in their first matchup as amateurs in 2010.
