Less than two weeks after picking up the second win of his mixed martial arts career, Shawn Rall (2-1) will travel to Texas this Friday as he looks to pick up a third win at LFA 33.

The Ohio native has stepped up last minute to take on Levi Mowles (7-3) at the event that will air live on AXS TV from The Bomb Factory in Dallas.

“[My] reason for taking this fight was because opportunities like such don’t come knocking twice, especially this early in pro MMA careers,” Rall told BluegrassMMA. “Unless you train with well known gyms or know the right person.”

Rall made his pro debut last year after an 11-fight amateur career, picking up a rear naked choke victory over Aaron Reinhard in just 26 seconds at Caged Madness 48. He then lost his second pro bout via the same method, but returned earlier this month to submit O’Brayan Ramirez at Xtreme Caged Combat 30 in Pennsylvania – again in just 26 seconds.

“My last fight was only 26 seconds so I’m still in shape and ready to go,” Rall said. “No need to sit and wait if you’re ready, and this is a great opportunity to get my name out there in the MMA community.”

Rall’s opponent hails from Texas, where he’s ranked as the No. 5 pro bantamweight and No. 6 pro featherweight in the state. He made his LFA debut last year, losing via decision against Miles Johns at LFA 16. He is also a multiple time Legacy FC veteran. Most recently, he earned a victory over Jesse Butler at Friction FC 1 in January.

Rall is already ranked as the No. 10 pro bantamweight in Ohio by Tapology, and he plans to continue to move up the rankings.

“2018 is my year to establish who I am in this game and show that all this hard work and dedication will start paying off.”

LFA 33 is headlined by Tennessee native Jaleel Willis (7-0) taking on Kyle Stewart (8-0). Check out the full card here.

Update: Rall announced Tuesday that he will no longer be fighting at LFA 33 due to a death in his family. Our thoughts are with his family.
