Bayfront Brawl V

Bayfront Brawl V is set to go down next month in Erie, Pennsylvania, and the event will be headlined by a professional bantamweight title bout as Antonio Castillo Jr. (10-7) takes on hometown favorite Branden Seyler (7-6-1).

Castillo drops to bantamweight for the first time, as the lowest he’s weighed in for an official fight was 139 pounds against Steve Smith at IT Fight Series 36 in 2015. He did, however, make the bantamweight limit for a couple of fights that were scrapped at the last minute, against Bryan Goldsby and Isaiah Chapman. “The Mexican Muscle” comes in off of a grudge match win over Frank Caraballo at IT Fight Series 78 last month. He’s ranked as the No. 5 pro featherweight in Ohio by Tapology.

Seyler will get his second crack at the Bayfront Brawl title, as the Erie native dropped a decision against Jerrell Hodge at Bayfront Brawl II in 2016 in his first opportunity. “Soku” recently completed a two-fight stint fighting for CES MMA in Rhode Island, as he picked up a win over Kris Moutinho while dropping a bout against Dinis Paiva Jr. in his last outing in October. He’s ranked as the No. 10 pro bantamweight in Pennsylvania by Tapology.

Also set for the event is a pro lightweight title bout featuring Strong Style Fight Team product Jeff Pelton (4-1) taking on Matt DiMarcantonio (10-7).

Pelton rebounded from the lone loss of his career in his last outing, as he stopped Nick Baker via guillotine choke in less than a minute at RFO: Big Guns 25 in September.

DiMarcantonio comes in from Canada with wins in two of his last three outings, including a decision over Charles Bennett and a knockout over Jacob Bohn.

Other pro bouts feature lightweights Andrew Huffman (7-8) vs. Jeremiah Yeager (3-8), light heavyweight Strong Style product Aleksa Camur (2-0) against an opponent to be named, and welterweights Brandon Odom (0-3) vs. Logan Urban (0-0).

Two amateur titles will be on the line, as Devin Mazik (6-1) takes on Brandon Birr (4-0) for the flyweight title, and Eric Pozun (3-0) takes on Serhiy Sidey (2-1) for the lightweight title.

Two other amateur bouts are also expected to be added to the March 17 card shortly, and an opponent for Camur is expected to be announced soon. Check out the current card below.
