Johnathan Ivey and Sean Salmon headline Colosseum Combat 43

Colosseum Combat returns to Kokomo on February 24th with a heavyweight title fight to serve as the main event of the evening. MMA journeyman and leg lock monster Johnathan Ivey will defend his title against UFC veteran Sean Salmon at the Kokomo Event Center.

Ivey has fought all over the world and returns to Indiana after winning the Colosseum Combat heavyweight title back in August with a first round win over Jordan Mitchell. Well known for his successful leg lock game, he’s remained an active fighter even at the age of 41 but has also dipped his toes into promoting events in Tennessee. His upcoming event, Johnathan Ivey’s Cage Fighting Championships 3, takes place on February 10th in Murfreesboro.

The Ohio native and former Ohio State wrestler Salmon will fight for the first time since 2013. He’s a UFC and Strikeforce veteran who had his struggles with alcohol documented in a 2014 MMA Fighting article by Shaun Al-Shatti.

Colosseum Combat’s 43rd event takes place Saturday February 24th with six professional fights lined up including Reggie Merriweather vs. Tom Shoaff and the professional debut of Kyle VanCamp as he meets Blayze Rodgers. An amateur title clash will also feature Iam Pomfret and Jordan Crider.

We will break down the entire card so stay close to BluegrassMMA for more on the event.
