Dawond Pickney and Taylor Callens throw down in V3 Fights 66 headliner
V3 Fights 66 kicks off the Tennessee promotion’s 2018 calendar, as they’ll head to Minglewood Hall in Memphis on Jan. 20 for their latest offering.
The main event features Bellator veteran and Arkansas native Dawond Pickney (13-9) taking on the returning Taylor Callens (5-0) in a lightweight clash.
Pickney looks for his third win in his last four outings, as he comes in off of a win over Aaron McKenzie at Primus FC in Oklahoma in December. The 39-year-old competed once for Bellator, where he came up short against Treston Thomison at Bellator 166 in 2016. He’s also competed for other notable regional promotions like CFFC and CES MMA.
Callens fights for the first time since June 2015, when he topped Drew Kennedy at Valor Fights 23. That fight itself was a return from a layoff of two years, as he’s competed just five times since turning pro in 2010.
Also at V3 Fights 66 will be a featherweight matchup pitting the red hot Reggie Adams (3-0) against Seth Anderson (1-0), and welterweights Kevin Henry (0-5) vs. Terry Johnson (0-0).
