A welterweight battle between big show veterans is set to headline the upcoming Valor Fights 48: Border Wars 2 event on Feb. 17 at the Corbin Arena in Corbin, Kentucky.

Veterans Brandon Bell (8-6) and Waylon Lowe (17-7) will throw down in the night’s main event, as Bell will represent his home state of Kentucky against the Tennesse representative Lowe.

Bell had a banner year in 2017, posting a 3-0 record and earning a nomination for the BluegrassMMA Pro Fighter of the Year award. He’s won four straight fights overall, including a victory over Ben Sergent at Bellator MMA Fight Series: Bristol, and a win over Jason King at the inaugural Border Wars event last May.

Lowe competes for the first time since April 2016, when he produced a knockout win over Ashleigh Grimshaw at Art of War 17 in China. The world traveler has also competed in Abu Dhabi as well as Brazil, and he also posted a 2-2 record during a UFC stint from 2010-11. He’s also competed for World Series of Fighting as well as Bellator MMA.
