A previously scheduled light heavyweight title bout featuring Julio Gallegos (10-5) and Billy “Mojo” Horne (15-4) has been rescheduled, and will now headline Hardrock MMA 95 next month in Covington, Kentucky. The event, which takes place at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center, will serve as the promotion’s nine-year anniversary show.

Gallegos was originally slated to face Horne at Hardrock MMA 91 in July, but Horne suffered a broken toe just days before the fight. Joshua Thorpe stepped in, and Gallegos defeated the veteran via submission in the first round. Gallegos also defeated Tony Parker via submission in his hometown of Lexington in the Hardrock MMA 93 main event last month.

The Cincinnati native Horne has been a mainstay at MMA events in the Queen City area for years, and he is still going strong despite turning 40 earlier this year. The one-time Bellator vet has won seven bouts in a row and hasn’t lost since 2011. Most recently, he submitted Michael Cockerham at Hardrock MMA 84 last October.

Two other pro bouts are also set for the event, as James Adcock (2-2) and Donnie Ballou (2-0) will square off in a 133-pound catchweight bout, while Brandon Campbell (0-0) and Donny Korbel (0-0) will throw down in a 130-pound catchweight battle of debuting fighters.

Adcock looks to snap out of a two-fight losing streak, as he most recently was knocked out by Jamal Mohammed at Hardrock MMA 91 in July. Ballou has picked up impressive first round submission wins in each of his first two pro outings, including most recently over Eugene Barrett at Hardrock MMA 89 in May.

Campbell posted a 5-1 record as an amateur, including winning the Hardrock MMA bantamweight title over Justin Thompson at Hardrock MMA 87 in March. Korbel comes in from Ohio after posting an 11-9 amateur record. Most recently he submitted Kalil Franks at Justified Defiance Fight Series 7 in July.

On the amateur side of the card, Tyler Shipp (5-0) will look to pick up Hardrock MMA gold in a third different weight class, as he’ll face Nathan Pierce (6-4) for the vacant middleweight crown.

Shipp won the Hardrock MMA heavyweight title in February, and then claimed the light heavyweight title in July with a TKO victory over Nick Jewell. Pierce also picked up a win over Jewell at Hardrock MMA 92 in September to earn a middleweight title shot.

The women will also be in action, as Emilee Prince (2-3) and Kelsey Hildal (1-1) will square off, as will Dani Harris (0-0) and Morgan Hickam (0-0).

Hardrock MMA 95 takes place on Dec. 9. Stay tuned to BluegrassMMA for more as it becomes available.
