IT Fight Series 77 goes down in Bellefontaine on Thanksgiving Eve, and the fight card will be headlined by a women’s MMA bout.
Jan Finney (11-11) will look for her fourth straight win, as she takes on Pam Sorenson (6-2) in a featherweight bout.
Finney, a Bellefontaine native, has won three straight bouts to even her pro record. Finney has fought a who’s who in the world of women’s MMA. She has a storied career and is a pioneer in the industry for women. She is a Strikeforce veteran who has shared the cage with the likes of Holly Holm, Liz Carmouche and Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino. Most recently, she topped Janice Meyer via TKO at IT Fight Series 48 last December.
Sorenson is a three-time Invicta FC veteran, with a 2-1 record for the promotion. Most recently, she submitted Helena Kolesnik via submission in the first round at Invicta FC 24 in July.
The co-main event features Brandon Suber (7-6) taking on Mike DeLaVega (2-2) in a lightweight bout.
Suber has won his last three bouts under the IT banner, including a highlight reel knockout of Chico Bays at IT 48 last year. Most recently, he was submitted by Mark Lemminger at an event in Wisconsin in January.
DeLaVega comes in from the Chicago area looking to build off of a win over Brian Akins at Bellator 175 in March.
Also, light heavyweight Lance Phillips (0-0) will make his pro debut, as he takes on Indiana’s Gabriel Mota (0-1) at 205 pounds.
Phillips posted an 8-1 amateur record, including five wins in the first round. Most recently, he closed out his amateur career with a win over Apineru Vele at Warrior Nation Fight Series 44 in April.
Mota posted a 7-4 amateur record before coming up short in his pro debut against James Waller at HFC 34 in September.
Raymond has won four bouts in a row, including winning the New League Fights super heavyweight title with a first round TKO over Bo Johnson in March. Richwine halted a two-fight skid with a TKO win over Cody Kelley at IT 73 in June.
IT Fight Series 77 takes place on Nov. 22 at the Bellefontaine Intermediate Auditorium.
