Dom Steele (15-9) is now 2-0 since being cut by the UFC earlier this year, as he topped welterweight champion Karl Amoussou (24-8-2) via unanimous decision in the main event at Cage Warriors 89 on Saturday in Belgium.

Unfortunately for Steele, he didn’t claim the promotion’s welterweight title, as he failed to make championship weight during weigh-ins, and the fight was changed to a non-title affair.
Steele had a rough second round against the French Bellator and Strikeforce veteran, but he did enough in the first and third frames to come home with the win.

The Vision MMA product and Cincinnati native also picked up a decision victory over Portland Pringle at Colosseum Combat XlI in October. He went 1-4 during a five-fight stint with the UFC from 2015-17, but that one win was a highlight reel slam knockout over Dong Hyun Kim in South Korea.
“Non-Stop Action Packed” has become a bit of a world traveler, as he has now competed in South Korea, New Zealand, and Belgium during his career. The event aired on UFC Fight Pass and you can catch a replay there.
