Warrior FC returns in September with seven title fights

Warrior FC Showdown

Warrior FC: Showdown

Warrior FC is set to return next month with “Showdown,” and the fight card will feature a whopping seven title fights, including a pair in the pro ranks. The event takes place on Sept. 23 at the Knott County Sportsplex in Leburn, Kentucky.

As BluegrassMMA previously reported, the main event will feature Ken Beverly (5-3) will look to defend his lightweight title against Jerrod Jennings (2-1).

Still just 20 years old, Beverly (#4 pro LW, KY) will compete for the ninth time as a pro. He looks to rebound from a loss against Nick Gehrts at Bellator MMA’s Fight Series event in Bristol earlier this month. He won the Warrior FC title with a submission win over Nick Baker in March.

Jennings (#9 pro LW, KY) comes in looking to rebound from the first loss of his career, as he dropped a decision against Anthony Livingston at a C4FC event in June. He started out his career with wins over Chip Condon and Sergio Pavon.

In the co-feature, Ben Rowland (3-0) defends his heavyweight title against Anthony Trotter (4-5).

Rowland (#1 pro HW, KY) has been impressive since turning pro last October. The 41-year-old has picked up all three of his wins via first round (T)KO, earning the Valor Fights, Warrior FC, and Premier MMA titles in the process. Most recently, he stopped veteran Ron Fields in just 1:35 earlier this month at Premier MMA Championship 4.

Trotter  (#9 pro LHW, KY) will compete for the first time in over a year, as he looks to snap a two-fight losing streak. In his last outing, he was finished in the fifth round against Dustin Long at Valor Fights 36 last August.

On the amateur portion of the card, Stone Beverly (3-1) and Scott Henderson (3-6) will vie for the vacant bantamweight crown.

A 18 years old, Beverly (#8 am BW, KY) is the younger brother of Ken. He has picked up three stoppage wins early in his career and looks to pick up his first title.

Henderson looks to rebound from a lightweight title bout loss against Jared King in his last outing.

Other amateur title bouts feature middleweight champion Jared Short (5-0) defending against former champion Justin Collett (13-31), super heavyweight champion Randall Ross (2-1-1) defending against Brandon Folen (1-0-1), welterweight champion Mike Douglas (4-5) defending against Timothy Engle (6-8), and lightweight champion Jared King (3-3) defending against Taylor Mote (2-0).
