Jeremy Pender vs. Adam Fritz new headliner for Hardrock MMA 89
Hardrock MMA returns to Turfway Park this Saturday with a strong lineup of six professional fights and 12 amateur bouts. Headlining the event is a clash of experience and youth when Jeremy Pender (13-12) meets Adam Fritz (3-2).
Pender has been a staple in the local MMA community but hasn’t fought close to home since 2014. He has won three out of his last four including his last fight, a first round finish in Kokomo for Colosseum Combat. Pender has fought a who’s who of fighters throughout his career and is still going strong. Jeremy is quick to acknowledge Fritz’s talent but is confident he will get the win and is looking for a finish.
It’s always nice to fight close to home. it takes some stress off for the weigh in day not having to travel. Fritz is good, I think he’s the next best guy in KY after Maness at 135 although I’m not super familiar with the local guys these days. I think there are a handful of things that he does that we are looking to exploit. I know what he does well and what he doesn’t do so well and we are going out to put him in some ugly positions and make it a tough gritty fight. He likes to fight pretty and I just like to fight. period. I feel like we match up favorably for me and I plan on finishing the fight.
Fritz started his career with three straight wins but has dropped back to back decisions. He has a strong grappling base and his teammates have been on a roll with two of them winning this past weekend in Corbin. His last six wins have all come by submission dating back to his amateur days. He, like Pender, is confident the fight will go his way.
I expect great things from this fight. He’s had a lot of experience but I’ve tapped him out once already. Saturday night is my time and I’ll have a great performance.
The fans should expect nothing but class from these two men and both are great assets to the local MMA community. Who gets the win Saturday night in Florence?
