Valor Fights 42 heads to Newport, Tennessee this weekend, and the 19-bout card features five pro fights.

In the main event, Steven Haag (2-1) will square off against Quinten Culpepper (2-0) in a lightweight bout.

The Tennessee native Haag looks to keep his record above .500, as he attempts build off of a win over Randy Stamey at Valor Fights 36 last August. He sandwiched a loss to Nick Gehrts with a victory via omoplata over Nick Collins in his pro debut in 2015.

Culpepper is a Georgia native who trains with American Top Team. After turning pro last year, he picked up stoppage victories in his first two outings. First, he topped BJ England via TKO in his pro debut at Valor Fights 33, and then he submitted Jonathan Pearce via toe hold in his next outing at Valor Fights 37 in August.

In the co-feature, Lindsey Jones (1-0) will welcome Jeff Powell (0-0) to the pro ranks in a welterweight bout.

Nicknamed “Sweet Tea,” the Georgia native Jones picked up a victory over former pro wrestler David “Kid” Cash in his pro debut at Valor Fights 38 in November. Hollywood, Alabama native Powell enters the pro ranks for the first time.

Other pro bouts include a 130-pound catchweight between Coel Ferrell (2-0) and Bruce Duckett (0-1), featherweights John Henning (0-4) vs. Dalton Fox (1-4), and welterweights Yemi Oduwale (0-0) vs. Travis Conner (0-1).

On the amateur side of the card, multiple UMMAF national qualifiers will take place, including at light heavyweight, where John Hall (3-0) will take on Demetri Fuentes (0-1) for the Valor title as well as a spot in the national championships next month.

Other UMMAF qualifiers feature featherweights Ben Brown (1-1) vs. Ahva Mayi (4-1), super heavyweights Michael Snapp (7-6-1) vs. Tim Johnson (0-5), and middleweights Josh Cumbee (4-1) vs. Bright Benson (4-1).
