Tonight Hoosier Fight Club heads to The Venue located inside the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana. The event will feature 4 championship title fights including the main event for the promotion’s currently vacant featherweight title.
Brady Hovermale (11-6) of Marion, Indiana will take on Jose Mariscal (5-2) of Chicago, Illinois. The veteran Hovermale recently moved his training camp out to the world famous JacksonWink MMA in Albuquerque, New Mexico in preparations for this fight. With two wins in his last three outings, Hovermale is looking to stop the rising Mariscal.
Mariscal comes into his first title fight after winning back-to-back fights under the HFC banner. Both victories came in the first round. At HFC 30, he submitted Andrew Karsten in just 1:12, and then he followed up that win with a 47-second TKO over Tim Cho at HFC 31 in November 2016.
The Chicago native DiGiulio is looking to bounce back from a recent defeat that snapped a nine-fight losing streak. The winning streak culminated with a two-fight stint in the World Series of Fighting. During that streak, he competed twice in Asia before he suffered a close, split-decision loss to Yusaku Nakamura.
Sainci is looking to turn his recent run of bad luck around. The Iowa-based fighter started his professional career with six straight victories before dropping his last two fights. A win over the veteran DiGiulio could prove to be a pivotal turning point in his career.
To round out the three professional title fights, Mike Santiago (19-9) will meet take on Nicholas Wayne (2-4). Wayne stepped up on just two days notice to take on Santiago as his original opponent, Kenn Glenn, was medically removed from the card.
The seeming unstoppable Santiago comes into this lightweight title fight with a nine-fight winning streak which dates back to August 2014. During that time, Santiago captured the Ring of Combat and Hoosier Fight Club featherweight titles. He will look to add another belt to his growing collection.
On the amateur portion of the card, Gabriel Mota (7-2) will defend his middleweight title against Devin Laseter (3-2). This marks the first time that Mota will be defending his belt since capturing it at HFC 31 when he stopped Jesus Razo in the first round.
