UFC veteran Josh Hendricks in ICU after house fire (Updated)
UFC veteran and Ohio native Josh Hendricks is reportedly in ICU after he was rescued from a fire in his house last week.
Hendricks’ manager and friend Bill Murphy posted the following update on his Facebook page:
It would be much appreciated if you all could say a prayer for my good friend Josh Hendricks. Josh was in a house fire last week and is currently in the ICU unable to breath on his own. He’s got a tough road ahead but if anyone can pull through it’s this guy.
Hendricks posted a 19-11 MMA record, and the 40-year-old made an appearance at UFC 91 in 2008 after posting a 16-4 record to start his career. He lost via TKO to former title challenger Gabriel Gonazaga at the event, and returned to regional competition.
His last bout was against John Johnston at CES MMA 22 in 2014.
We’ll keep you updated on any available news on the situation as it becomes available.
Update: Josh has been released from the hospital and is doing better. He reportedly still has a long way to go in his recovery, but for now he is doing much better.
