Premier MMA Championship set to debut in February with four pro bouts

Premier MMA Championship

Premier MMA Championship is set to debut next month with their first event on Feb. 11 in Covington, Kentucky. The new promotion is put together by Billy Donovan, former matchmaker for Absolute Action MMA.

The fight card is coming together and features four pro bouts, including a headliner pitting Billy “Mojo” Horne (15-4) against Dustin Long. It’s a grappler vs. striker matchup, as Horne has a dozen submissions on his record, while Long has finished three bouts via TKO. Horne has won seven straight bouts, dating back to his lone Bellator MMA appearance at Bellator 78 in 2012. His most recent outing was a submission over Michael Cockerham at Hardrock MMA 84 in October. Long is coming off of a win that earned him the Valor Fights light heavyweight title over Anthony Trotter at Valor Fights 36 in August. He also topped Cockerham in a Muay Thai bout at Valor Fights 39 in December.

In the co-main event, middleweights Tony Parker (13-13) and Marcus Finch (8-10) will square off. Parker looks to rebound from a knockout loss in his last outing, but prior to that, he had won two bouts in a row. Finch hasn’t competed since losing via TKO against Jamie Pickett at NLFC 3 in North Carolina in September 2015. He looks to snap out of a three-fight losing streak.

Other pro bouts feature Ronald Fields (23-31-1) vs. Jordan Mitchell (3-8), and Marc McDonald (2-2) vs. Chris Coggins (7-10).

On the amateur side of the card, Jake Kools (3-0) looks to advance his unbeaten record when he takes on Darryl Ray (3-1). Marcus Lewis (7-4) returns for the first time since 2010, as he takes on Zach Stacy (4-1). Also, Xander Harwood (4-0) looks to remain unbeaten when he takes on Keith Speed (5-3).

Premier MMA Championship takes place at the Radisson Hotel in Covington, just across the border from Cincinnati, Ohio.
