Two undefeated lightweights will square off in a pro bout at next week’s Pinnacle FC 15, as Nick Browne (7-0) is set to take on John Gunther (4-0) at the event.

Pinnacle FC president Matt Leyshock announced the bout during an appearance on The BluegrassMMA Podcast on Thursday night.

Browne is the Pinnacle FC lightweight champion, and he comes into this bout looking to extend his winning streak that dates back to his amateur days in 2012. The Uniontown Fight Club product has earned wins in multiple ways as a pro, with three submissions, two knockouts, and two decisions.

Gunther represents Strong Style MMA and heads to Browne’s backyard in Western Pennsylvania. “The Machine” was slated to compete at RFO: Big Guns 21 last month, but his opponent dropped out at the last minute. It’s also been awhile since Gunther has tasted defeat, as he’s won seven straight bouts dating to his amateur career in 2013.

Pinnacle FC features two of the most popular fighters in the Ohio Valley, as Dominic Mazzotta defends his featherweight title against Solon Staley, while Mark Cherico squares off against Antonio Castillo Jr. in a grudge match years in the making.

The event takes place on Dec. 17 at Teamsters Hall in the Pittsburgh neighborhood of Lawrenceville. The event streams live via FloCombat.
