IT Fight Series returns to Columbus this weekend, as IT Fight Series 48 is set to go down at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus, Ohio.
In the main event, the professional heavyweight title will be on the line as Jeff Hughes (6-0) takes on Dan Spohn (13-5). The fight is a pivotal one for both fighters. Hughes looks to remain unbeaten while also defeating his third big show veteran in a row after topping Jason Riley and John Hawk earlier this year.
Spohn is still on a journey back to the UFC. He’s 5-1 since his time on “The Ultimate Fighter” in 2014, and a win over an undefeated up and comer like Hughes would certainly push him that much closer.
In the co-feature, Strikeforce veteran Jan Finney (8-11) returns, as she faces Janice Meyer (2-2) in a 140-pound catchweight bout. Both fighters come into the bout on respective two-fight winning streaks and look to make it three in a row.
The night’s third pro bout will feature a welterweight battle between Chico Bays (3-0) and Brandon Suber (6-5). Bays looks to go 2-0 on the year after a posting a win over Dustin Parrish in March, while Suber is looking for what would arguably be the biggest win of his career to make him 3-1 on the year.
On the amateur side of the card, Anthony Romero (6-1) and Sean Foster (4-0) will square off for the lightweight title. The 19-year-old Romero looks to win his third amateur title, while also picking up his sixth win in a row. Foster has all four of his wins via stoppage as he drops down to the lightweight division for the title shot.
Two title shots will also be up for grabs, as Mark Carosella (6-1) and Avery Arellano (4-1) battle for a crack at the lightweight title, and Darion Peterson (5-0) and Erik Vondenhuevel (3-1) will vie for a light heavyweight title shot. Peterson was a late addition to the card after his planned bout near his home in Cleveland was canceled.
The card airs live on via iPPV on GFL for $14.99. You can order the live stream here. Check out the full fight card below.
