Dominic Mazzotta (11-1) now has an opponent for next month’s Pinnacle FC 15, as “The Honey Badger” is set to take on Solon Staley (11-4).

Mazzotta, who holds the Pinnacle FC titles at both bantamweight and featherweight, comes in riding an eight-fight winning streak. He’ll defend his featherweight title here against Staley.

He’s a perfect 5-0 under the Pinnacle banner, with all of the wins via submission. He’s also ranked as the No. 1 bantamweight in the BluegrassMMA Rankings.

Mazzotta has been impressive throughout his career, particularly recently, as he continues to put away some of the best regional prospects with relative ease. In his last bout, he outclassed Bellator MMA veteran Keith Richardson, eventually submitting him with a guillotine choke in the second round after dominating the fight.

Staley comes in as the top-ranked featherweight in South Carolina with wins in three of his last four bouts, and according to Tapology he’s the No. 13 ranked featherweight in all of the Southeast. He’s also proven to be a finisher, as he’s posted seven submissions and three (T)KOs throughout his career. He’s never been finished as a pro, with all four of his defeats via decision.

Pinnacle FC promoter Matt Leyshock wants to let fans know they may not be able to see Mazzotta on the local scene for much longer.

Mazzotta is riding an 8 fight win streak and has ended all but one via submission.  It’s getting harder and harder to find guys that this kid can fight so make sure you show up before those $40 tickets end up being $400 and a flight to Vegas where you half fight the whole time with your girlfriend because you’re “too drunk” to be in public and should stop “quoting Kevin Gates memes”.

Pinnacle FC 15 also features a long-awaited grudge match between Mark Cherico and Antonio Castillo Jr. The full card streams live on FloCombat.

The event takes place on Dec. 17 at Teamsters Hall in the Pittsburgh neighborhood of Lawrenceville.
