Isaac Hook suffers broken leg at IT Fight Series 46

Isaac Hook (5-3) was challenging champion Paul Shough (5-1) for his heavyweight title. The match-up was just one of four title fights at IT Fight Series 46 (event results) which took place at the Stars Indoor Sports complex in Columbus, Ohio.

Just like the thousand of title fights before this, no one would have imagined either fighter to walk out with a serious injury.

Moments into the second round of the title fight, Hook landed two successful kicks. It was on the third kick that Hook landed when he broke his leg.

Oh, nice snap on that one,” announcer Nick Hahn said as Hook landed the kick that would cause the injury.

Initially, Hook appeared to be fine as if a standard kick. It was when Hook advanced after landing the kick did he, and everyone in the crowd, realize he broke his leg.

He hurt himself he hurt himself. He broke his leg,” said current IT Fight Series featherweight champion Joe Pimentel during the iPPV broadcast.

When Hook looked down and noticed what happened, he fell to the canvas in shock and pain. Referee Jerry Poe immediately called a stop to the action and signaled the cageside doctor.

It’s at this point in the video you can hear fans saying all kinds of expletives. It then did they recognized what took place.

As Hook was being stretchered out of the cage he gave the customary thumbs-up to the crowd signaling, he is fine.

At this time we don’t know how severe the injury is but one can only imagine that if Hook does decide to return it won’t be for a long, long time.
