Hardrock MMA is back at the Derby Expo 5 tonight with a professional main event between AFS Academy product Adam Fritz (3-1) as he takes on Bronx Hill MMA fighter Michael Ricketts (4-2) in a bantamweight contest.
Michael Ricketts jumped out to four straight wins to start his professional career. He made his debut back in 2014 and rattled off four wins by submission before meeting Nathan Maness last October. Ricketts suffered his first pro defeat but followed up that tough fight with another tough one against Alfred Leisure at IT Fight Series 42 where he fell short on a decision. Ricketts will be looking to rebound as will his opponent.
Richmond’s Adam Fritz started much like his opponent. He tallied three straight submission wins. In his fourth pro fight, he fought a very tough Ronnie Lawrence. He dropped the bout by decision. Fritz has a phenomenal ground game as does Ricketts so it should make for a crowd-pleasing main event.
Ken Beverly (0-1) will make his sophomore appearance as a professional when he meets Dusty Stengel (2-1). Beverly will be in hostile territory as Expo 5 is a stronghold of Area 502 MMA. That being said, the 19-year old hasn’t been shy about fighting tough opponents. He lost his pro debut against a seasoned Que Parks. Stengel is coming off a fight of the night performance against David Crowe earlier this year.
Gary Thomas of BluegrassMMA.com and professional fighter Gina Begley will be commentating the action cageside. You can watch the event live on BluegrassMMA.com by clicking here. Otherwise, scroll down to see the results.
