IT Fight Series 46 Features 19 Bouts
IT Fight Series 46 finalized the fight card slated for this weekend’s event. The show will feature 19 bouts including 4 amateur title fights and 3 professional bouts. Headlining the event is a lightweight contest between Zach Cook (2-2) and Lucas Ransbottom (1-1).
After dropping his first two fights to start his professional career Cook was able to rebound from defeat. In his next two bouts the Columbus, Ohio native was able to secure two first round victories. The first came against Tim Boyle at Valor Fights in Tennessee. He was able to stop Boyle midway through the opening round.
Following up on the stoppage, Cook submitted Mike Williams last September at IT Fight Series 36. It was the first submission win since 2011 when Cook was an amateur fighter. Looking to build upon his recent success he looks to continue his streak against Lucas Ransbottom.
With two fights under his professional belt, Ransbottom is holding steady with an even record. Earlier this year he suffered his first loss at the hands of an undefeated fighter in John Gunther. Before that fight, Ransbottom who also resides in Columbus, submitted Chris Brooks.
The main event features two hometown fighters both of which will bring big crowds to the Stars Indoor Sports complex.
On the amateur side of the card, we will see 4 titles on the line. Heavyweight Champion Paul Shough (4-1) will defend his title against Isaac Hook (5-2), and undefeated Mark Carosella (6-0) will defend his title against Adli Edwards (6-1). The other two titles flyweight and welterweight will be up for grabs as both titles are currently vacant.
Undefeated fighters Logan Urban (4-0) and Caleb Frasher (4-0) will be competing for the welterweight title. Both competitors are off to a great start in their amateur careers. Each keeping their record perfect while picking up impressive wins along the way. Between their eight combined fights, only once has it gone the distance.
In the flyweight title fight, undefeated Nikolai Gionti (5-0) will take on Floyd Cisco (4-3). After picking up the decision win over Marquis Johnson, Cisco earned his shot at the title. Prior to that win, he suffered a tough loss against Joe Pimentel in a title fight.
Gionti is a fighter that is not only deserving of this title fight but a competitor that is quickly, and quietly becoming a top prospect in the flyweight division. With five wins, three of them finishes, the Griffon Rawl fighter continues to improve inside the cage.
