2025 BluegrassMMA Amateur Fighter of the Year

Steve Mowry is your 2015 BluegrassMMA Amateur Fighter of the Year.

Mowry and Chelsea Faulder were the two leaders from the beginning of the voting, but Indiana’s Valanti Atsas made a late push but still came up short.

Pennsylvania’s Steve Mowry had just two fights in 2015, but both were high profile fights and wins over tough opponents. First, he won the EFP heavyweight title with a third round submission over JD Ramsey at Caged Madness 33 in January.

Then, he won the Gladiators of the Cage heavyweight title by submitting Chris Arajuo in the second round at GOTC 17 in June. It remains to be seen if a pro debut is on the horizon for the heavyweight who has a 7-0 overall career record.

Although he hails from the Keystone State, Mowry has been spending time in Florida training with the famed Blackzilians at the Jaco Hybrid Training Center.
