Results – Trotter Legacy: Winter Beatdown

Brandon Campbell

Trotter Legacy returned to Richmond, Kentucky for their first event of the year. The event featured five amateur title fights including one professional bout. Headlining the show was hometown favorite and undefeated Adam Fritz (2-0) who met Ohio native Darnell Pettis (0-2). After winning his debut bout last September, Fritz took some time off before stepping back into the cage.

Pettis, who lost his professional debut to stand-out fighter Cody Gabelman last October, was looking to bounce back from that defeat. However, Fritz had plans of his own. It only took Fritz a little over two minutes to submit his opponent; Pettis is not to be taken lightly either. With the win, the AFS Academy fighter keeps his record flawless and adds his second notch to the win column.

In the co-main event of the evening, Jordan Robinson (3-2) finished his opponent, Eli-John Kaindu (4-2), to become the promotion’s new amateur lightweight champion. It was the second time these two fighters met inside the cage. At the organization’s last event back in November, these two went the distance with Robinson also earning the victory in that fight. The win at Winter Beatdown closes out any potential rubber match between the two of them.
