“You never know what can happen to you…” believes Vladimir Kazbekov

In this life of ours, you just never know when your last breath might occur. That’s the life philosophy that Vladimir Kazbekov lives by. The talented up-and-coming amateur fighter will step back into the cage this weekend when he meets undefeated Jonas Rubiano.

My thoughts about Jonas that he is a good fighter,” says the Team Ascension fighter. “In general I respect him already because he accepted the fight and never turned it down.” The reason he made the point was he had his fair ordeal of fighters that have backed out of fights in the past. Now as we are days away from Gladiators of the Cage: The North Shore’s Rise to Power VI, the Canadian is certain Jonas will show up on Saturday.

Earlier this year Kazbekov suffered his first loss. “I am a different fighter now, way better [than I was],” when asked what, if anything, has changed since then. He went back to the drawing board and with the help of his coaches who he gives high praises he told us, “I’ve learned a lot after that loss so I’m glad it happened.”

That was evident when he met Sean Highfill this past June. Heading into that fight, he told us that he wanted to showcase some of his newly crafted skills. However, he was not able to as he finished the then undefeated Highfill in just :29 seconds. This time around he plans to put his skills on display, if given the opportunity.

When asked if the fight this weekend goes his way what does the future hold. He responded very elegantly with, “You never know what can happen to you in next 5 minutes. [You] can go to sleep and not wake up.” With that type of mentality, you can believe that he plans to give it his all every time he steps inside the cage. Of course, the Russian native also was more realistic when he said, “all I care about is this fight [right] now.”

“You never know what can happen to you in next 5 minutes. [You] can go to sleep and not wake up.”
