It is being reported that UFC vet Thomas Hayden (6-2) has stepped in to replace the injured Cody Stevens (11-7-1). Originally Stevens was booked to meet Frank Caraballo (12-7) in the main event at Fight Nite in the Flats on June 7. Unfortunately after the ONE FC vet sustained an injury he was forced to withdraw himself from the bout.

This unfortunate news put the DRIVEN MMA matchmaker, Nichole Castillo, in a tight spot as this was a highly touted match-up. Without delay, she was able to find a replacement. We have reached out to Cody Stevens for more information on his injury and how long he is suspected to be out. As of this writing we do not have any further knowledge on the situation with Stevens.

Stepping into the cage for the first time in nearly two years, Hayden looks to redeem himself after his last two performances. The last time he competed was inside the UFC when he dropped back-to-back fights. These were the first two losses of his professional career.

Although it is never exciting to see a fighter pull out of the fight, especially from injury, including Hayden on the card was a nice addition. Both Hayden and Stevens have nearly the same style of fighting so it won’t be much of a change for Caraballo.

Fight Nite in the Flats is the biggest event of the year for the promotion. Even with a near last minute fumble, officials were able to make a quick recovery. The event takes places in just over three weeks from now at the Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica in Cleveland, Ohio. Stay tuned to BluegrassMMA for all of the latest surrounding this event.
